Administration
May be taken with or without food: Best taken w/ meals.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ hyperoxaluria. Hemolysis in patients w/ G6PD deficiency.
Adverse Reactions
Ascorbic acid: Diarrhea & other GI disturbance; hyperoxaluria. Oral Zn gluconate: GI including abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gastric irritation & gastritis.

Drug Interactions
Zn: Reduced absorption by Fe supplements, penicillamine, P-containing prep, tetracyclines & some dietary constituents eg, phytates. Reduced absorption of Cu, fluoroquinolones, Fe, penicillamine & tetracyclines.
